At last, out of hibernation

At long last Spring is on its way. I have been taking the odd shot through the winter, but a combination of my Handyman business getting out of hand.....pardon the pun, and my version of 'SADS', has severely limited my free time in front of the computer.

Brighton pit-stop

Blew into and out of Brighton today to fetch my son from music school for Christmas.
Was back home in Kenilworth by 2.30pm. Just had time, after I did his washing up, to take a few pics

This is where my son lives....100yds from the seafront!!!!!!!

For those of you that are sick of Fungi pics.....I have some more. The good news is, that this will be the last lot. Had a sunny afternoon wandering around Hay wood again. Will be very busy again this week until Wednesday afternoon. so this set will be the last for a few days.

These 2 were taken by the missus with her 4.0mp compact Canon....not bad

These last 2 were the same subject. Used the flash on the second shot, which seems to have had a reverse effect

Hi all. Took Chris and Max to Hay Wood, Baddesley Clinton this afternoon before the light....what there was of it....went altogether. Another dreadfully dreary day
What a wonderful place. Its owned by the Forestry Commission, and the footpaths are really looked after.
Anyway, will not bore you with a history lesson, but will just post some of the many fungi pics I took.

This picture shows a bridge on the Kenilworth to Berkswell branch line that was opened in 1884.
The tracks have long since been lifted, and the bridges go nowhere.

Kingsbury Water Park

If you have read Max's blog tonight, you will know we took him a few miles to Kingsbury Water Park today.
This is a series of gravel pits that were filled in many years ago.

Back to Max's favourite walk on the disused branch line across the road. These bridges, with the exception of one, which is still a mainish road, go nowhere, just across the track.

Another awful day....dull...damp and windy. Golf was really hard work today. As always didn't take my camera, and there was wildlife everywhere right in front of me.....sods law.
Anyway here a couple of pics I took last night

Golf in wellies again in the morning. Hopefully things will brighten up later.
Must get a new keyboard tomorrow. Spilt a gas of whiskey on it last night and the keys have gone all sticky now......inside not outside

These dark afternoons are beginning to get me down already. I must start going out first thing in the morning when the light is better.
Anyway, have decided to post some images of the disused Kenilworth-Berkswell railway line I took today.
Mainly because its just over the road.

I have jumped in with both feet and entered the first 2 pics into a monthly competition on the photo blog I have left the link for.......nothing ventured.

Another dull day apparently void of wildlife....apart from crows and pigeons.
Anyway, a few shots around the private woods down the road where they seem to breed Pheasants.

This is all that is left from the Kenilworth to Berkswell branch line built in 1884. They have turned the traks into a walkway. There are so many people there at the weekend that it drives away most of the wildlife

Introduction and a new hobby

To everybody that might pick up this blog from 'Ellas Craft Creations', I just thought that I had better tell you who I am.
I am Chris's husband Dave, a retired Police Officer for the last 28 months. Although seriously short of drinking tokens, I have resisted the overwhelming need to work for a living.
I spend most of week split between my cars, caravan and playing as much golf as I can.
Max has got fed up with me using his blog to post my photos, so here are the results of my new hobby.....how did I ever find time to work.
I went out and bought myself a fixed lens bridging camera. A Fuji HS20EXR. Its got a fabulous lens that has an effective zoom from 28-720mm. Its been a long time since I had my first Olympus OM2, so consequently I am still mostly using the cameras fixed auto programs.
Anyway, might as well start by posting some of my latest sunsets....helps living in the country...and some pics from the firework display at Kenilworth Castle Saturday night

Now for some fireworks.

Ok nuf of showing off. We have just got back into caravanning after a 2 year break....missed it. So next year between that and a very mad Max, should have plenty to show.
